金州勇士前鋒格林（Draymond Green）的崛起充滿童話般故事，以身高6呎7吋出任大前鋒，過於矮小，使得他在新人選秀會落到第二輪第5順位才被勇士挑中，他投籃不準，力量不大，體型偏小，球場上怎麼擺都不對勁。

但過去三年格林用速度、傳球、防守和充滿能量的求勝意志，為勇士帶來一座總冠軍。

西區決賽勇士在第3、4戰連輸雷霆兩場，系列賽陷入1：3落後絕境，再輸一場衛冕軍就要被淘汰出局。勇士在這兩場球賽共輸52分，第二節就被雷霆打爆，格林場上的正負貢獻值高達-73，NBA季後賽史上最爛，爛到他在自己的日記都看不下去。

格林說，「我沒有打出能量，沒有領導能力，我什麼都沒有為球隊做出貢獻，通常球隊需要我帶動能量和士氣，但我打得糟透了，我不知道發生什麼事，但第三戰不小心踢中雷霆中鋒亞當斯（StevensAdams）事件愈滾愈大，確實影響到我。」

目前勇士系列賽1：3落後，但格林並不會感到恐慌，他表示，「我們勢必要反彈，打出最好表現，並且拿下第五戰勝利，延續這個系列賽，現在調整還不遲，我們將會做出反擊，在沒有退路的情況下，我們會重新回到這個舞台。」

連續兩場比賽打得無比糟糕，確實令格林感到沮喪，他在這兩場球賽共摘下12分、15籃板，16投2中，其中三分球4投0中，10次失誤，表現爛到自己都看不下去。

>格林說：「我很難接受失敗，我也不是故意要踢亞當斯，但整個事件變得好像我是故意的，這確實困擾了我，我必須從這裡頭解放出來，做回我自己。我明天將會當做生涯最後一戰來打，全力拿下勝利。」
